PROJECT 1A - KEY ARTWORK
Week 4 | 16/09/2020
This project is to create a key artwork to be used in collateral for the subsequent task down the line. the focus here is to use visual elements, graphic elements and the title in an experimentive and impactful and visual attractive manner.
I choose The ABCs of Bauhaus Design Theory as my title and we have to do some research so that we have a deeper understanding.
Progress :
Fig 1.3, first attempt
After receiving feedback, we shouldn't have background for this project because key artwork has to focus on the type not the background, So, I decided to remove the background and play around with the colour of the title.
After feedback, mr Vinod suggest me to enlarge the size of "The ABCs of" and "Design Theory" as well as to increase the spacing between the lines.

FEEDBACK
Week 5 | 23/09/2020
General feedback : This project is not designing a poster. It is similar with logo but it should be flexible and able to place it anywhere.
Specific feedback : Remove the background as key artwork has to focus on the title. Try to playing around with the title and colour to make it interesting without background colour.
Week 6 | 30/09/2020
General feedback : no feedback is given.
Specific feedback : Enlarge the size of the "The ABCs of" and "Design Theory" and increase the spacing between the lines.
Week 7 | 07/10/2020
General feedback : no feedback is given
Specific feedback : Don't put any graphic elements on "The ABCs of" and "Design Theory". Therefore, the poster looks similar with past year student's work.
REFLECTION
Week 5 | 23/09/2020
Experience : I was struggling at the very beginning because I couldn't come out with any idea of the key artwork. Therefore, I do a lot of research and reference of Bauhaus design and tried several times. But most of them looks like a poster and I decided to choose one of them to be my key artwork.
Observation : I have to be truly understand the meaning of Bauhaus and the graphic elements they used like circle, square and triangle and develop the artwork in a certain direction.
Findings : Sometimes it is hard to come out with an idea of artwork that looks like a logo but it is not a logo. But after some attempt, I can actually found out what is the idea and how it should be looks like.
Week 6 | 30/09/2020
Experience : At first, I have many unsure and I try to start my design with uneasy mood. I have tried many different designs and finally I choose one as my key artwork because the shapes and the words were mixed together nicely and I like the colour contrast on it.
Observation : After the finalization of key artwork, I try to come out with different colour such as pastel colour design but I still stick with the first one. After that, I make sure that the key artwork I finalized is flexible and can place in eveyrwhere such as billboard, bags, t-shirts and so on.
Findings : The clear understanding is very important before I start to design an artwork otherwise I will just stuck at the middle and don't know what to do to the design that I am making and it feels like I have no target and don't know what am I doing in this artwork.
